Enrollment Form
A new session of training classes Start January 30, 2012 at the Animal Resource Center, 7949 S. I-35 Service Rd. in Oklahoma City. The ARC is located on the Southwest Corner of I-240 and I-35. Classes are hosted by the Central Oklahoma Golden Retriever Club, however all breeds and mixed breeds of dogs are welcome. Minimum training age is 4 months. NOTE: 2nd class with same dog earns $20 discount! Vaccinations required on all participants. Class sizes are limited – enroll soon! For more information email tempestamber@yahoo.com
Training Classes are all 8week classes
Foundations (follow a basic skills chart that teaches your dog to walk nicely on a loose leash, come when called, sit, down & stay) Mandatory orientation 1st night. Do not bring your dog to the first night’s class.
Attention 101 (pre-requisite is Foundations or assessment of similar skills) – This is an intense class to teach the fundamental skill of attention to your dog. We progress from sitting attention to the beginning steps of heeling with attention.
Intermediate (pre-requisite is Foundations & Attention 101 or assessment of similar skills). Focus is on core skills of recall, stays, front, finish, introduction to jumps (broad, high & directed jumping).
Boot Camp Heeling (pre-requisite is Attention 101 or assessment of similar skills) Can be concurrently enrolled in Intermediate or Advanced. Take your heeling skills from minimal to fine tuned in this high energy class. The focus is on attention maintenance while executing all heeling maneuvers. Perfect for a brush-up before the show season or if you feel like your heeling is losing you too many points in Rally or Obedience classes.
Advanced Competition (pre-requisite is Intermediate and Trained Retrieve or assessment of similar skills. Boot Camp Heeling is recommended) Here is where the polish is put on all the skills for Novice, Open and Utility classes. Various stations are featured each week where skills are trained under the watchful eye of our instructors.
Compulsive Retrieve (pre-requisite is Foundations class). Our instructors will teach you to teach your dog a reliable retrieve on command.
Our instructors have over 50 years of combined experience in private and public training. They have attended training seminars over the years to enhance their understanding of the different theories of training dogs. All of our trainers have placed titles from AKC obedience, agility, conformation, field, etc, and are currently competing in the show circuit. We welcome all breeds to train in our classes.
